An active journalist with over two decades of experience, Kalpana Rane has been Entertainment and Lifestyle Editor of Mumbai Times, a supplement of Maharashtra Times, for ten years and Managing Editor of Times Languages for another decade, handling supplements in Marathi, Hindi, Gujarati, Bengali and Kannada. She has also worked on Coffee Table Books on the Indian Navy, the Nightingale of India and Bharat Ratna awardee Lata Mangeshkar, former Chief Minister of Maharashtra Uddhav Thackeray and on many achievers of international fame. She conceptualized and executed MaTa Sanmaan, Mumbai Times Carnival, Celebrating Shravan and Navrang – 9 Colours for 9 Days in Navratri and has anchored events like Mumbai Konachi, Cooperative Banking and the Shikhar Conference for Maharashtra Times.
Kalpana Rane has been elected as the member of Mumbai Marathi Patrakar Sangh and The Press Club for three terms and has been felicitated by Pathare Prabhu Mahila Samaj, Prabhu Prabhat Pratishthan, Gramin Patrakar Sangh, Brahman Seva Mandal, Archana Nevrekar’s Sanskruti Kaladarpan, Ambernath Film Festival, Vishwabharari Foundation & Kalina University for her contribution to niche in Marathi Journalism.
A recipient of the Best Actress award for a short film, “French Fries” at Matrubhasha International short film festival 2023, she has also been awarded the first prize in Times Talent Club (initiated by Times HR) in 2004.
When she is not bringing out editions, Kalpana can be found on film sets, listening to directors and giving her best to win another award for acting
